HOPE Expo 2012 is a one-day Workshop and Exhibit offered FREE to prospective HomeBuyers. This year is the 21st year of the Expo, which is held annually during National HomeOwnership Month. The Event is made possible through the efforts of a number of Non-Profit and Government-Funding Agencies, Lenders and Realtors volunteering their time to work together in the planning of the Expo.

Our goal is to help you achieve the Dream of HomeOwnership by providing you access to experienced professionals involved in many facets of the HomeBuying field.

This year's Expo will feature an Exhibit Hall where over 30 housing-related Professionals will have booths for you to visit and get information. The Exhibitors will include Lenders, Real Estate Agents, Home Inspectors, Credit Counselors, Non-Profit Assistance Programs, and others.

You will also have the opportunity to attend a 6-hour HomeBuying Workshop and receive an 88-page HomeBuying guide.

The Workshop will answer questions such as:

1. Do I qualify for any Assistance Programs?                                                                                    
2. How do I qualify for a mortgage?                                                                                                   
3. What documents will a Lender need?
4. Where do I start?
5. Why is a good credit report so important?  How do I clean up my credit?
6. Do I need a Home Inspection?                                                                                                          
7. How are my Property Taxes determined?              
8. How can I save money by conserving energy?  (Presented by Progress Energy)           
9. How can I protect myself with Homeowners Insurance?

Those who complete the HomeOwnership Workshop will receive a "Certificate" after the event. This Certificate can help you satisfy the education requirements for a variety of Affordable Housing Loans and DownPayment Assistance Programs. The Certificate is NOT an Approval for Assistance OR for a Mortgage. You must still complete an Application and meet the qualifying criteria. 

If you plan to attend the Event all day, please note that coffee and lunch will be available for purchase on the premises.
